Just a friendly reminder that there is no school Friday or Monday for the Victoria Day long weekend!
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Math:Today students learned about symmetry. They looked at different figures and had to determine if the figure was symmetrical. They circled the figures that were symmetrical and drew a line of symmetry.
Inquiry into Language:Today we read Chapter 3 of our novel study ‘Afternoon on the Amazon’. Then children answered comprehension questions about what they read.
This week is review week for spelling. There is a list of all 30 words on the side of my blog. Children have picked their 10 words in class to write sentences but please review all 30 words, as I will be randomly picking 10. Children wrote out their words and worked through the spelling workout book.

Creature Quest Thursday

Unit of Inquiry: Today we discussed as a class the different habitats and the animals that live within them. We reviewed that living things such as plants, animals and humans need water, access to food, sunshine, shelter and air to live a healthy life. We also watched a video of different animals adapting to their environment. Then children worked through a habitat package drawing and labeling the physical features that help it survive.
Thank you to my teacher helper Sianna, you are always such as great help!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Love,
Miss Gandy
