Happy Tremendous Tuesday!
I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend spent with family and friends!
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Math:Today we reviewed finding the perimeter (distance around) of a shape or object. We understand that to find the perimeter we need to add all the sides together.
For example: 5cm+5cm+5cm+5cm= 20cm.
Tomorrow we will be learning about area!
Earth Day: Today we had a visit from three Grade 6 students who talked about climate change and what happens to our earth when it is polluted. We brainstormed ways to prevent polluting our environment such as riding a bike to school instead of taking the car. Then we made our own pictures of the Earth using paper plates!
Inquiry into Language:Today students learned their weekly spelling words and worked in their spelling workout book.
Agenda:
Spelling test Friday
Spelling sentences due Friday
Casual day tomorrow
Bake sale tomorrow
Read 15 minutes/ comprehension
Unit of Inquiry:Today students finished their Day of the Dead masks. We added the final touch of glitter glue to draw attention to certain areas of our masks.
Love,
Miss Gandy
