We had another lost tooth today!

Math:Today we reviewed standard and non-standard units of measurement. The students had to pair up and complete and math scavenger hunt. They had to find items in the classroom and hallway that were certain lengths. For example 3 paper clips long, 10 paper clips long etc.

Arts Night Performance:Today we learned the actions/dance moves to our song! Please continue to practice the words and actions at home with your children!

Inquiry into Language: Today students started to write a letter to me about their favourite colour and give reasons for their choice. For example, my favourite colour is yellow because it reminds me of the sun and makes me feel warm inside. We were reminded to include the parts of a letter (heading, opening, body, closing and signature).

They have yet to finish but will continue working on it tomorrow.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
