Math: Today students wrote their math test.
Inquiry into Language: Today students learned about using opinions for reasons in their letter writing. We brainstormed as a class through think, pair and share what the word ‘opinion’ means. We learned when we use opinions in our writing we need to give reasons to why we think that way. Students filled in a graphic organizer on why they think they are ready for Grade 2.

Japanese Culture Centre Trip April 18th

Unit of Inquiry:Today students learned about totem poles. We brainstormed as a class what we knew about totem poles. We learned that they are used by First Nations to represent their family history, tell a story or specific event in their life. We then used our symbols we gathered from the weekend that represented our own lives to create a totem pole.
