Happy Fantastic Friday!

What a busy day today…. It was dance party day! Students got to enjoy some yummy snacks while busting some great dance moves. Today we also had the chance to pie two teachers in the face. The lucky winners were… Mr. Conte and Mr. Foster. You both took it like champs!

Math:Today as a class we reviewed solving addition and subtraction word problems using place value mats. We checked our work using the column method. We also practiced showing 2 digit numbers 2 different ways on the place value mats.

Library:Today we visited the library, Ms. Hayward read us a story and we had the chance to view and sign out books of our choice! Please return any books that have been signed out for a long period of time. Students are unable to sign new books out if they have library books at home.

Inquiry into Language:Today students reviewed and identified the five main parts of a letter (opening, greeting, body, closing and signature).

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
