Jump Rope for Heart –It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA!

HAPPY 100th DAY OF SCHOOL!

Math: Today students reviewed the terms faces, vertices and edges. They went over common 3D-shapes and in groups discussed their properties. After children were giving 2 different shapes and had to list their properties. Then they had look for similarities and differences in both shapes
Music: Next we had a music lesson with Mrs. Mcmillan. Please see her blog at https://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com
Inquiry into Language:Today students wrote a journal entry titled ‘If I was 100 years old’. Children were reminded to use correct punctuation, sentence starters and detailed sentences.
After children were finished we read a chapter of our novel study ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and answered comprehension questions.

Unit of Inquiry: Today for UOI students created a self-portrait of themselves 100 years old. They had to sketch the outline of their face, add detail such as wrinkles, cotton balls for grey hair and eyebrows etc.
