Re-registrations packages have been sent home. All completed forms are due back no later than February 11th, 2019, in order to save your spots.
A note from Melissa: Just a friendly reminder that re-registration packages are due by Monday, February 11. After this time, spots will be opened up to the public and your child will not be guaranteed a space for next year. We look forward to seeing you back for next year!

March Break Camp at SJA: Sign up to reserve your spot
Jump Rope for Heart –It is that time again! We will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Thursday, February 14th. Donation packages have been sent home. You can make a pledge using cash or you can donate on the website - jumpropeforheart.ca. House points will be rewarded to each student who brings in donations. If we meet our school goal of $2500, students will be rewarded with a fun activity. Let’s see what we can do SJA!

Oral Competition:Today we had our oral competition where the Grade 1’s, 2’s and 3’s presented their book retells. I was so impressed by all the students, they showed great enthusiasm while presenting! Congratulations to all the presenters and the students moving on to the Maples to compete.
Math:Due to the ice day yesterday, the math test will be written tomorrow! So today we reviewed interpreting bar graphs and pictographs. We also reviewed probability and the terms likely and unlikely.
Inquiry into Language:Today we were introduced to our new novel study ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. We discussed the front cover, title and author. Students had to discuss with a partner what they thought the book was about. We had some very good answers such as inventions, chocolate, candy etc. After we read the first Chapter where we were introduced to the main characters.

Unit of Inquiry: Students finished sorting their past and present inventions. After they finished they worked through a word search including different invention and inventor words.
