Happy Terrific Thursday!
Today was anti-bullying day and we started the day with an assembly! We learned about different types of bullying and what we need to do when we are bullied or see someone being bullied. After we designed our own Anti-bullying t-shirts for a kindness chain outside the cafeteria.
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Math:Today we went through our math review and took up the questions. We answered any last questions about 3D shapes before the test tomorrow. After we quickly reviewed identifying different 3D shapes and their properties such as edges, vertices and faces. Students were then given a shape, they were given clues about a particular shape and had to raise their shape if it fit the clues.
Inquiry into Language:Today as a class, we read chapters 12 and 13 of our novel study ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. Students’ completed comprehension questions about the chapters
Agenda:
Math test tomorrow

Summative materials brought Monday
Anti-bullying Activities: Today students took part in one of my favourite activities for anti-bullying day. Ad a class we squeezed all of the toothpaste out of a tube of toothpaste onto a piece of paper. When we finished, I asked the children to put the toothpaste back into the tube using toothpicks. It wasn’t long until they realized that the task was impossible. I then asked each child to give an example when someone said something mean to them, we wrote these mean words on the board. Once everyone had a turn, I asked the children to imagine the toothpaste represents all of the words we wrote on the board. We shared that just like you cannot put toothpaste back into a tube, you cannot remove the pain caused by saying hurtful things to others. Then we made anti-bullying posters!
Have a wonderful evening!
Love,
Miss Gandy
