What a snow day! We loved playing in the snow during recess
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Math:Today students continued to review for their upcoming math test on Friday.
We had to identify different 3D shapes and their properties such as edges, vertices and faces. Students were given a shape, they were given clues about a particular shape and had to raise their shape if it fit the clues. Today students also worked through a review package where they had to identify different shapes by their skeleton and discuss how they knew. Then students had to read sentences about shape properties and determine what shape the sentence was talking about.
Inquiry into Language:Today as a class, we read chapters 11 and 12 of our novel study ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. Students’ completed comprehension questions about the chapters
Music: Next we had a music lesson with Mrs. Mcmillan. Please see her blog at
Agenda:
Math review due tomorrow
Math test Friday
Spelling test Friday
Spelling sentences due Friday
Read 15 minutes
Anti-bullying day tomorrow
Summative package due Monday
Summative materials brought Monday
Unit of Inquiry: Today we went over our summative tasks and thought of some examples of inventions that we could create. Last year inventions such as a cleaning robot, homework machine and flying car were invented. The invention can be something that already exists with a little bit of a twist. After we finished brainstorming we learned about the Wright Brothers. We read a passage about their life and had to create a timeline.
Have a wonderful evening, stay safe and warm!
Love,
Miss Gandy
