Happy Magnificent Monday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We have an exciting few weeks ahead of us before the March break. An email will be sent home regarding spirit week that will be happening next week. This week we have casual day on Wednesday and Anti-Bullying day on Thursday (please wear a pink shirt).
French: We started the day with Mlle. Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com
Music: Next we had a music lesson with Mrs. Mcmillan. Please see her blog at https://mrsmcmillanmusic.blogspot.com
Math:Today students reviewed for their upcoming math test on Friday. We had to identify different 3D shapes and their properties such as edges, vertices and faces. We reviewed that a curved surface does not count as a face because a face needs to be a flat surface. After children had to guess what 3D-shape Ms. Gandy was thinking about by the clues. For example: ‘This shape has two faces, zero edges and zero vertices, what shape is it ?’
Inquiry into Language:Today students learned the words of the week and worked through the spelling workout book.
Agenda:
Bake Sale tomorrow
Math review due Thursday
Math test Friday
Spelling test Friday
Spelling sentences due Friday
Read 15 minutes
Anti-bullying day Thursday
Casual day Wednesday
Unit of Inquiry: Today we learned about the first automobile. Before we learned anything we had to draw a picture of what we thought the first automobile looked liked. Then we went to Mr. Foster’s class and watched a short clip. We saw what the car looked liked and compared it to our pictures. We discussed the difference between cars from the past to cars we have today such as safety procedures, pedals, steering wheels, breaks, lights etc.
Have a wonderful evening,
Love,
Miss Gandy
