Math:Today students learned about skeletons of 3D Shapes! We even built some skeletons of a square based pyramid, cube and rectangular prism. We used marhsmellows for the verticies and tooth picks as the edges. Then we discussed how many vertices and edges are on each skeleton!

Inquiry into Language:Today students wrote their Ontario Writing Assessment on journal writing. We have been learning about journal writing for the past few months and have practiced including elements such as title, date, sentence starters, introduction sentence, punctuation and detail throughout!

After, children wrote their weekly spelling test! Please sign and return Monday

Unit of Inquiry: Today we read another chapter of our novel study 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory'. After, children had the chance to finish their biography about their chosen inventor. Those who finished practiced reading through their biography because in the next coming days they will be presenting to class all about their inventor!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
