Happy Monday!

This morning we found Joy resting in the Kleenex box! She was having the Monday blues from her exciting weekend.

Math:Today we reviewed for our upcoming math test on time, temperature and money. We went over adding coins together!

Reading Buddies:Today we had a visit from our reading buddies! They are learning to ask us comprehension questions about the books they are reading to us.

Inquiry into Language: Students worked on the words of the week. They used their spelling words to complete various tasks in their agenda.

Christmas concert:Today practiced the Christmas concert! We will be decorating our Christmas clothes this week!

Unit of Inquiry: Today students learnt how to organize different items. They were told they were going on a trip to Mexico and they needed to pack their suitcase. We discussed ideas of what to pack and what we would need. We thought about the weather and the difference between our wants and needs?

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
