Math:Today we reviewed money! As a class we discussed the worth and names of different coins. We worked together to try to make $1.00 and 75 cents with the least amount of coins. Then we got called away to practice our Christmas song with Mr. Oliver.

Inquiry into Language: Children wrote their weekly spelling test!

Christmas concert: After we practiced for our Christmas concert!

Unit of Inquiry: Students had to think of ways that Ms. Gandy could organize the classroom. In groups they had to think and brainstorm ways to organize the classroom. After they finished walking around the classroom they had to write a list of their ideas and share them to the class. Then each group got approved to organize something on their list with labels.

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
