The class that sells the most Poinsettias will win a $50 gift card!! Order between November 1st and November 30th by cash only.

A note from our Librarian, Ms. Hayward:

Happy Thursday!

French: We started the day with Mlle Jessica. Please see her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Math:Today in math children continued to review time. As a class we went over using vocabulary such as o’clock, 30 minutes before, half past, quarter to and quarter after. When the minute hand is on the 6 we know that means a half hour has past. When the minute hand is on the 9 we know it  is a quarter to the next hour. Instead of saying 3:45, we learnt to say quarter to 4. We practiced making times with our partners.

Next we got blank time sheets and had to show on the clock the correct time and write it down, remembering that the big hand tells us the minutes and the little hand tells us the hour.

Daily5: Today I introduced daily 5 to the class. Once to twice a week we will be having a daily 5 session, which gives me the opportunity to work in smaller groups and to hear children read. The children will rotate every week to different stations: listen to reading, reading to self, word work, work on writing and reading to someone. Today we had a reading with teacher, cursive and reading to self station.
Gym: Please see Ms.Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Agenda:

Unit of Inquiry:For the rest of the day we presented our summative projects! Students were reminded to use the appropriate behaviour when listening and presenting their projects. After a student finished we asked them questions and told them one thing we loved about their presentation! Way to go everyone! We will finish the remaining presentations tomorrow

Today my teacher helper was Zayn! Thank you for being a great help!
Have a wonderful evening
