Day 2

We had another great day!

We started the day with French, you can check out her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Math:Today students discussed our math unit on patterning. We went through some examples from yesterday and children gave their own. Students then completed their pre assessment for this unit. Please do not be alarmed… this is not a TEST! We complete a pre assessment before each math unit to understand prior knowledge and find out where we go next. We also use this data when we complete our math graphs to show how each child changed over the unit!

Music: Please see Mr. Flower’s blog at flowermusicsja.blogspot.com

Gym: Please see Ms. Yustin’s blog at https://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Agenda: Wear house colours tomorrow
Welcome BBQ September 20th
Money due for BBQ September 14th
Read for 15 minutes
*** Student hand book sheet signed and to be returned to classroom teacher

We had yet another house game where Theta (woot woot) took the winning house points in freeze frame.

UOI: We had a discussion to start the lesson on the importance of rules. Why do we have rules? What would happen if we didn’t have rules? We went over the importance of having class rules and even school rules. These rules are not only to be followed in the classroom but everyone has to follow them in the whole school. There were some great ideas shared! Way to go everyone!

Language:Students were given a booklet called ‘Recipe for a Great School Year’ where they are able to set their own goals for the school year. Today we focused on making a recipe that will make us successful this school year
For example
‘A spoonful of ...respect’
‘A pinch of … kindness’
‘A heap of... fun'

We will come back to this booklet and continue setting our goals for this year tomorrow!

*A special note from the Librarian*
