Happy Tremendous Popcorn Tuesday!
We enjoyed our yummy popcorn this afternoon!
Daily 5: Today we started the day with a puzzle! Boggle and Noggle is something I used in my old school and students loved starting the morning off with this challenge! Boggle uses letters, they are mixed in a chart and students had to create as many words as they could using the given letters. The longer the word, the more points they received. This helps students to learn to recognize letter patterns and facilitates fluency. Noggle uses numbers, children had to create as many equations as they could that add up to 20. For example 10+ 10=20!

Gym: Please see Ms. V’s blog at https://msvphysed.blogspot.com

Math: Today students learned how to place and read numbers in ten frames. Then, as a class we reviewed the meaning of estimation, we knew that it meant an educated or smart guess. After, students estimated, counted and describe different ways they counted the marbles on their table. We practiced counting in our 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's and 25's.

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language:  Students learned about telling sentences today. We discussed as class that a telling sentence or statement is a sentence that tells about someone or something. It always begins with a capital letter and ends with a period. Children worked thought a package fixing, matching and writing out telling sentences.
Agenda:
Read 15 minutes
Fall fundraiser trip form and money
Spelling test Friday
Spelling sentences due Friday
Casual day tomorrow

Unit of Inquiry: Today we reviewed the different relationships we have at home, school and in the community. We discussed the different responsibilities we have with certain relationships. For example, Ms. Gandy was responsible for walking her brother home from school when he was younger. We started working through a booklet called 'My Important Relationships and Responsibilities'.

Thank you to Neel, my teacher helper for the day!

Have a wonderful evening, please do not forget it is a casual day for everyone tomorrow!

Love,
Miss Gandy
