Wednesday, November 28 – Bake sale and casual day

Friday, November 30 – Term One report cards go home

Oakwood Academy is holding a Poinsettia fundraiser for the holiday season, to raise money for some new sensory items. The Poinsettias are red, pink or white and make a wonderful holiday gift, and are a nice way to spread holiday cheer. Order forms were sent home today. The class that sells the most Poinsettias will win a $50 gift card!! Order between November 1^st and November 30^th by cash only.

Thank you to everyone who came by to see our science fair project! We worked extremely hard and we were so happy to showcase what we had learned.

Agenda:We started the day off by writing our agenda so we were ready for a day full of science!

- Summative materials due by Monday, November 19^th

- Summative research due by Monday, November 19^th

- Read 15 minutes

- Review Christmas song

- Christmas clothes by December 1^st

Then we practiced our science fair presentation until the judge came into our classroom! We did such a good job Miss Gandy was so proud of us!

What is Action?

Many people think that action is easy to define. It is something you do right? But action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world? If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop. Taking action can happen at any age. Support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents! I’d love to hear about the action your child takes part in at home and in the greater community. Please send me a quick email or agenda note to let me know so we can celebrate together.
